X-Guide Navigation
The X-Guide works in unison with cone beam 3D imagery to give Dr. Maddux a live video overlay not only of your jaw, bone, and teeth but our drilling tools in relation to them. The X-Guide shows us the exact angle, depth, and placement of every action we take in your mouth in real time. This gives us the ability to precisely control the placement of every implant procedure we perform.
Implant placement outcomes are better with the X-Guide, giving us a higher implant success rate, and happier patients. Even the recovery process can potentially benefit from the X-Guide system. Patients who have implants placed using the X-Guide system may in some cases achieve faster and smoother recovery results than those who have no surgical guide.
Erbium Laser and Nd:YAG Laser
For treating periodontal disease, our erbium laser is a comprehensive and minimally invasive periodontal therapy incorporating the power of dentistry’s two most effective laser wavelengths: Er:YAG and Nd:YAG. This technology enables wavelength-optimized treatments for periodontal therapy (such as WPT™), which create the optimal conditions for healing periodontal tissues. Additionally, laser technology prevents infection and promotes reduction in pocket depths.
Our LANAP treatment is one of the most successful protocols in treating gum disease because it can target the source of the inflammation without hurting or removing any healthy gum tissue, slow or stop attachment loss and decrease pocket depth, and allowing the body to recover from the chronic infection without the need for scalpel or sutures
The LANAP treatment involves no cutting or sewing. Cone Beam CT 3-D Digital Imaging
CT Scans and Cone Beam Imaging systems generate 3D, high definition x-rays within seconds. The panoramic images are remarkably clear, which helps with diagnosing and treating dental ailments. These scans allow us to quickly assess your dental needs and get you back out enjoying your life in less time than you might expect from traditional imaging equipment.
The health and safety of our patients is our highest priority, which is why we utilize a cone beam imaging system in our office. Unlike traditional x-ray systems, the Cone Beam system produces a very low dose of radiation, thus reducing unnecessary exposure.
Digital Radiography
Here in Dr. Maddux’s office, we use the latest x-ray technology to make your experience as painless as possible. We use digital x-rays (digital radiographs) to make the process more efficient and to minimize the patient’s exposure to radiation. These types of x-rays can emit up to 90% less radiation than traditional film x-rays and are virtually instantaneous. They are also saved on a computer for referencing at a later date — no more bulky plastic sheets in giant envelopes. Another advantage of digital x-rays is that they can be magnified to reveal much greater detail than regular x-rays. Other features of the pictures can also be adjusted, like brightness, contrast, and color. If hard copies are needed, they can be printed. With digital x-rays, there is no need for a dark room to develop film, and no storage space needed for physical x-rays.
Additionally, because all the pictures are digital, the computer can superimpose pictures taken over time and highlight the differences. When the computer emphasizes the changes, you and Dr. Maddux can easily see movement, growth, loss, or other subtle nuances.
Fotona NightLase
Fotona’s NightLase® therapy is a patient-friendly laser treatment for increasing the quality of a patient’s sleep. NightLase can reduce the effects of and decrease the amplitude of snoring by means of a gentle laser treatment of the mucosa tissue.
Simple, Safe and Effective
Fotona’s patented laser modality optimizes the length of laser pulses, allowing for the safe penetration of heat into the oral mucosa tissue. It is gentle enough to be used on the sensitive tissue inside the mouth, but strong enough to provide clinically efficacious heating.
Fotona LipLase
LipLase™ is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment that enhances the lips so that they have a fuller and more natural appearance. This process using laser energy and is done via the regeneration of collagen. The treatment is performed from the interior of the mouth and the exterior lip area. No injections are necessary, no foreign materials are utilized, and patients are able to return to their normal activities immediately after receiving the treatment with little to no side effects. The LipLase™ lip enhancement treatment fills, plumps, and rejuvenates lips while also defining shape.

Once you reach 30 years of age, you will lose as much as one percent of collagen production annually. To fight this, LipLase™ utilizes a laser that heats the deepest layers of the skin and stimulates the production of collagen. We have the ability to treat the lips as well as the surrounding skin, in addition to the inner lips. By targeting all aspects of the lips, we are able to create smoother, tighter, and fuller lips that provide a much more youthful appearance.
What does the LipLase™ Treatment feel like?
LipLase™ treatment is quick (approximately 20 minutes) and comfortable. Patients do not require any numbing, however if you would like we can numb your lips for a few minutes prior to the treatment. Many patients say it feels like hot water droplets on your lips. You may feel heat for up to 30 minutes after the treatment. The great news is there is no down time or risk of bruising.
What Can You Expect Following the Treatment?
Patients are encouraged to use a moisturizing lip balm consistently for 48 hours post-treatment. Lips may shed a dead layer of skin approximately 2 days post-treatment, before revealing fuller and smoother appearance.
How Many Treatments Do You Need?
For optimal results, it is recommended to receive at least three or four treatments, spaced 3-4 weeks apart. Since this process stimulates the natural production of collagen, maintenance treatments are helpful for longer lasting results.

With Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) therapy, Dr. Maddux has a cutting-edge new treatment designed to directly harness the natural regenerative abilities of the human body and focus them efficiently on dental applications. Platelet Rich Fibrin techniques can be used to accelerate the recovery process following a dental procedure, or it can be utilized to repair and replace damaged oral tissues directly.
Platelet Rich Fibrin is derived from a small amount of a patient’s blood which is centrifuged and processed to separate red blood cells from platelets and leukocytes which form the basis of a complex fibrin matrix membrane. When a PRF matrix membrane is placed over a wound, the platelets are activated releasing several regenerative proteins with real therapeutic potential.
Water Purification For Intra-Oral Procedures
Properly treated water is incredibly important to maintaining a safe office environment, and our water line purification system makes sure the water that comes out of the tap is ready for health care use. Our system is connected directly to our water line and the water then runs through a series of specialized filters to remove different compounds. These systems are integrated to connect directly to all cleaning equipment, as well as delivery systems in our patient rooms.

At our office, you can rest assured we have the cleanest air. We have installed a medical grade Hepa Air Purification System designed to capture all of the unseen particles and impurities suspended in the air: dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, organic chemicals and odors. It captures 99.97% of unseen particles down to 0.3 microns.
