COVID-19 Advisory

Dear Patients,
As we begin to see more news about COVID-19 (coronavirus), we would like to inform you of the measures we are taking to protect the health and safety of our valued patients and staff.
Alabama Periodontics has always employed “Universal Precautions” methods and adherence to ADA and CDC guidelines. We also follow strict sterilization protocols, using an autoclave device for instruments. Other items are discarded after a single use. In addition to our standard protocols, we have increased our daily cleaning and disinfecting measures to further prevent the spread of disease. We will also do our best to limit the number of people in our waiting room at one time.
If you answer YES to any of the following questions, please CALL OUR OFFICE at (205) 661-1234 to reschedule your appointment. No cancellation fee or penalty will apply.
Have you traveled outside of the continental US in the past 14 days?
Have you traveled to/from high-risk areas in the US or on a cruise ship in the past 14 days?
Have you had close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient within 14 days of symptom onset?
Do you currently have a fever or symptoms of lower respiratory illness (e.g. cough, shortness of breath)?
Do you feel ill in any way?
Just like with our patients, we have asked our team members to stay home if they feel ill.
Now is not the time to neglect your oral health. Like other areas of the body, your mouth teems with bacteria — mostly harmless. But your mouth is the entry point to your digestive and respiratory tracts, and some of these bacteria can cause disease. Remember to wash your hands, brush and floss your teeth, cover your cough, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and get rest to boost your immunity.
Your health and well-being have always been and will continue to be our top priority. We promise to do everything in our power to keep you safe.
Be not afraid as this too shall pass!
Dr. Brett Maddux and the Alabama Periodontics Team
